Town Halls Now believes that public servants owe the public their presence, their answers, and their accountability. We organize peacefully but persistently to compel elected officials to engage with the people they represent through open, in-person dialogue. Our goal is constructive conversation, focusing on meaningful outcomes and tangible solutions.
Civic Discourse
All participants agree to:
• Engage respectfully, even when discussing emotionally charged topics.
• Refrain from personal attacks, offensive language, or disruptive behavior.
• Listen actively, allowing space for differing opinions and experiences.
Constructive Dialogue
• Venting frustrations is recognized as important and valid; however, all participants commit to steering conversations toward solutions, compromise, and actionable outcomes.
• Members are encouraged to propose ideas, ask clear questions, and suggest feasible steps forward.
Integrity and Honesty
• Members commit to truthful communication, accurately representing facts and avoiding misinformation.
• Disagreements on facts or interpretations will be addressed respectfully, supported by credible evidence whenever possible.
Accountability
• Participants acknowledge accountability for their words and actions, understanding their contributions shape the group’s reputation and effectiveness.
Inclusivity & Accessibility
• We commit to fostering an environment welcoming to individuals of all backgrounds, identities, and abilities.
Rules of Engagement
Stay Peaceful
No physical violence, threats, or aggressive confrontation.
Follow the Plan
Protests are coordinated. Stick to assigned roles, routes, and talking points.
No Hate Speech
Racism, sexism, xenophobia, homophobia, or other forms of bigotry are grounds for immediate expulsion.
Be Camera-Ready
Assume every action is being filmed. Speak and act in a way that represents the group’s mission with clarity and dignity.
Respect Fellow Protesters and Opponents
Internal solidarity and external composure are essential.
